The Rue Canal is a vintage-style watch that pays homage to New Orleans old and new and is a celebration of the magic she has inspired in so many.
Inspired by the opening lines of John Kennedy Toole’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, A Confederacy of Dunces, the Rue Canal is a vintage-style watch inspired by mid-century New Orleans. And like the famous novel, it is a loving homage to the magic and soul of the city.
The watch’s custom handset and numerals are modeled after the old DH Holmes Department Store clock on Canal Street where Ignatius J. Reilly stood in the novel’s opening.
Rue Canal features three distinct dial colorways: cream evoking a warm summer’s day in New Orleans, night blue representing the city after dark, and streetcar green inspired by New Orleans’ famous green and red streetcars.
